This 1995 custom-built log home with 17.80 acres is located in a small community across from Table Rock State Park. Located just a mile and a half to the state park making it an easy walk. This is a chinked log home which adds a lot of character to the exterior and interior. Doe Run is right off of Hwy 11 and just across the road from the state park. Oolenoy Lake is a part of the state park and this lake butts up to the sub-division. It's great for kayaking or canoeing. 512 Doe Run is all the way back in and on the right. You will see Rhododendron Dr. This is the name the owners picked just for their driveway. Once you open the gate, you will drive through a wall of rhododendron bushes on both sides. Just simply beautiful and they will be blooming in a couple weeks. A great deal of quality is in this home but being there actually seeing it, is how you can take it all in. The square footage on the main and second level is 1950 sq. ft, while the partial finished basement offers another 992 sq. ft. These specs are from the county records. The home has 3 bedrooms plus 3.5 baths. The main level offers a very large 20' x 24' great room and a custom-built stone fireplace with deep hearth. The floors are heart pine along with the kitchen cabinets. A couple of stained glass windows add a special touch to the great room. The kitchen and dining offer plenty of room for large gatherings. There is ample counter space for food prep. A half bath is also on this level. There is a 12' x 40' deck out back where you can hear the creek just below and also watch wildlife. Out front you can enjoy an 8' x 40' covered porch where you can sit in your favorite rocking chair. If you like privacy, you will not find anything better. The upper level offers 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The primary bedroom is 20' x 24' with another stone wood burning fireplace. There is more than enough room for extra furnishings. There are two other bedrooms with a second full bath. The upper level features all hardwood floors. The basement level offers another full bath plus it is set up for a convertible bedroom area. The laundry area shares a space in the workshop. A separate room is where the HVAC, hot water tank, well tank and service panel are located. Incidentally one big plus is the well water in this area. It has the best tasting water in the entire Upstate if not the country. I personally know this as we lived in this community for 20 years and I have tasted fresh water (springs and well) in many states in this country and I have yet to taste any better water. The location makes it easy to get to Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee both within 12-14 miles. These are some of the finest lakes in South Carolina. It is an easy drive to Greenville (24 miles), Easley and Pickens (9-15 miles). Schools and medical clinics are all an easy drive. Located only 30 miles to Brevard, NC, this home is just off scenic Hwy 11. If you are really wanting seclusion, privacy and away from the city, look no further.
